ALTIA CENTRAL
ALTIA CENTRAL is dedicated to the development of children through English education in Japan. We recruit Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) to work in public schools, providing them with training, resources, and support. Our mission is to ensure a positive educational experience for students while fostering cultural exchange. We are committed to the growth of our ALTs and the success of their collaboration with Japanese teachers.
Can I apply from overseas or only from within Japan?
Absolutely! Overseas applicants can apply, but they need to go through a lengthy process to obtain a working visa.
Do I need a major in English or Teaching to apply?
We do not typically require a degree in English or Education, though many new ALTs come from these fields.
Is Japanese necessary for the ALT job?
We prefer ALTs to have some conversational ability in Japanese, but it is not required for classroom teaching.
What are the visa requirements to be an ALT?
To work as an ALT in Japan, you need an Instructor’s Visa, which requires being from a native English-speaking country or having completed 12 years of all-English education.
How long is an ALTIA CENTRAL contract?
Typically, contracts are for one year, starting on April 1st and ending in March.
What prefectures does ALTIA CENTRAL have contracts in?
We primarily operate in the Chubu region, mainly in Aichi, Gifu, and Shizuoka Prefectures.
