English Teacher for Adults

Lorosa’e English Language Institute (LELI)
LELI is seeking qualified experienced teachers to teach English to working adult learners
(IELTS experience an advantage).
There are positions available for September/October 2007 for English teachers and one
senior academic coordinator.
Teachers will conduct classes for Timorese staff working for government ministries,
international donor agencies and NGOs, embassies, and some private enterprises.
The successful applicant should have:
• Suitable TEFL qualification. Teachers will need to work independently and some
level of course design will be required.
• At least six months previous teaching experience outside of a TEFL course.
• Enthusiastic, self-driven, committed approach to English teaching.
LELI offers:
• Reimbursement of return airfare from either Darwin or Bali for six months of service
• Full working visa (required medical and police background check)
• US Dollar-based competitive salary allowing for a comfortable lifestyle
• Flexible, negotiated time-off periods
• Reimbursement of travel insurance up to USD $250.00 for six months
• Rented accommodation available

LELI is the largest provider of English courses in East Timor. Courses range from
beginner to advanced, as well as English for “specific purposes.” All teachers are
internationally qualified and experienced.
The school has excellent facilities, including:
• computers with internet access
• photocopiers
• course books and audio soundtracks
• portable cassette players
• general stationary
• classrooms with whiteboards and air-conditioning
