SeriousTeachers is committed to maintaining the privacy and security of personal data and contact information submitted during registration. Teacher contact details, references, and other private profile information are not displayed publicly. They are made available only to authorized employers for legitimate employment purposes when access is permitted by the service. Employer account and job information is protected in the same manner.

Registered users may update their information, unsubscribe from email alerts and notifications, or request deletion of their account and associated personal data. Uploaded documents belonging to users who have been inactive for more than 15 months may be removed as part of our data-retention process.

Serious Teachers Job Alerts mobile app

The Serious Teachers Job Alerts Android app connects a device to an existing SeriousTeachers teacher account so that the user can receive personalized teaching-job notifications and view the latest matching opportunity.

Data the app processes

A randomly generated installation identifier for the app installation.
A Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token used to deliver push notifications.
A security credential used to authenticate the paired device.
The SeriousTeachers teacher-account identifier associated with the paired device.
Job-alert information, including job title, location, details, and application link.
Notification-permission and device platform information needed to operate the service.

The app does not sell personal data and does not contain third-party advertising. It does not collect precise location, contacts, photos, health data, or financial information.

How the data is used

We use this data to connect the device securely to the correct teacher account, deliver matching-job notifications, display the latest matching job, maintain notification delivery when a device token changes, prevent unauthorized access, and diagnose service errors.

Storage, security, and service providers

Data sent between the app and SeriousTeachers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. The device security credential and notification token are stored using protected device storage. SeriousTeachers stores the paired device record and latest job record on its secured systems. Google Firebase Cloud Messaging processes the notification token and notification-delivery data as our push-notification service provider. Hosting, database, and security providers may process data only as needed to operate and protect the service.

Retention and user choices

Paired-device and latest-job records are retained while needed to provide job alerts and maintain the account connection. Users may disable notification permission in Android settings at any time. Users may also request that their mobile-device connection, account, or associated personal data be deleted.
