Details: Conversation Teacher needed in beautiful Kyrgyzstan
The International Ataturk-Alatoo University in Bishkek is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and flexible teacher to teach conversational English and reading skills to 1st year students from January 2008.
The successful candidate will be required to teach 24 hours a week (1 hour=40 minutes) to students of all levels (except Starter), prepare and conduct examinations, and attend departmental meetings and seminars.
We offer:
$1,000-$1,500 a month depending on skills and qualifications (this is a very good local wage which will provide for a comfortable lifestyle)
Optional overtime paid at $6 an hour
A one-year renewable contract
Visa support
Requirements:
Native speaker
A university degree
CELTA or equivalent teaching certificate
At least 2 years post-CELTA teaching experience
The International Ataturk-Alatoo University has been open for ten years and currently has over 1300 students. All students are required to learn English, Russian, Kyrgyz and Turkish in the first year before continuing their Master’s programmes in their specialised subjects. Our students are generally enthusiastic, talkative and highly-motivated to improve their level of English.
Kyrgyzstan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world with high mountains, lakes and forests. Situated in Central Asia on the old Silk Road, it is a cosmopolitan country with influences from Russia, China and Turkey. Bishkek is a comfortable and relatively safe city. It has varied nightlife and cultural events. Most products are readily available.
