What is Progressive?
Progressive School of English is a thriving language school in south-western Poland founded by English Teachers for English Teachers, both new and experienced.
At Progressive we specialize in doing one thing well - teaching English. Like few other language schools in Poland, we don’t diversify and offer lessons in multiple languages. Many students chose our school for this reason but also because we are the only school in our region owned and operated by Native Speakers of English with professional degrees in Language Education.
Who are we looking for?
At Progressive, we solely employ Native Speakers of English. Such a system has obvious benefits for our students but also offers numerous advantages for our teachers. At Progressive, you will not be the ‘token’ Native Speaker sent from one conversation lesson to another to talk about your country. Rather you will be a member of a young, dynamic group of Native English Speakers working together to effectively enhance the conversation skills of your students.
Progressive is looking for candidates for teaching positions from Mid-September 2008 through June 2009. Our candidates should possess a BA Degree in English (or related field) and or a TEFL TESOL CELTA certificate. Previous teaching experience is preferred. However, we do know that all great teachers started somewhere. Most important for us is that each candidate is an open-minded, positive and creative professional ready to experience life in Poland, one the most exciting places in Europe.
What is our approach?
At Progressive our primary goal is to teach students how to effectively communicate in English. That’s why Progressive uses Avalon Direct English, the most contemporary method in English language instruction. Progressive is a licensed member of the Avalon School of English in London.
As a teacher at Progressive, your classes will consist of no more than 12 students. You will be expected to teach your students essential grammar concepts, useful vocabulary and key English phrases in a clear, concise manner. The lessons are primarily based on a question-answer format accentuated with grammar, reading, writing and listening exercises.
