Fields of Expertise: Experience of working with children or in camps
Details: ESDC - Be Yourself in English is looking for English Native Speakers to work as camp counsellors/English Teachers in esdc Summer Camps in Austria and for our partner in Slovakia.
Applicants should be EU Nationals or have an EU work permit and preferably be aged under 26,
We offer week-long summer camp programmes (both day camps and overnight camps) with the aim of teaching English as well as giving the kids some tools for communication in general. The entire programme is fun based, takes place in English and is teaching none-the-less.
We have a carefully worked out programme, train counsellors beforehand and at the same time expect the counsellor to be innovative enough to be able to round up the programme, add elements which they know or adjust according to the group situation. There are mandatory elements with specific games, activities. The games / activities which we suggest can be substituted with ones which you know or feel more comfortable in carry out.
Mandatory elements are: language teaching, arts & crafts, sports, drama, Big Finish & Hot Stops, diaries and language teaching i.e.: arts and crafts activities: we make a suggestion and have a step by step in the handbook. However you might feel more comfortable doing a different arts and craft activity.
The dates are as follows. The first week is a mandatory training week.
Austria: 12th July – 4th September 2009
Slovakia: last week June – end of August
Conditions for esdc Austria:
Day Camps: €180 per week, plus B&B
Overnight Camps: €200 per week plus full board
Conditions for Slovakia
€145 (under review), plus free room and lunch
