Details: Cotemar International Develoment Center is seeking one full-time English/French teacher early childhood and elementary education teacher
All applicants must speak English and French with native or native-like fluency.
Educational Requirements:
• Minimum of one year elementary classroom teaching experience or evidence of successful completion of a student teaching experience at an accredited university.
• Elementary/primary teaching credentials/ qualifications.
• EFL/ESL teaching certificate
Additional:
• Sensitivity to cultural differences (ability to adapt to a way of life requiring understanding and flexibility).
• Genuine commitment to students, the profession and to student-centered learning.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
• Teaching preschool in our morning Kinder program and students in our after school program K-8 (2 classes/day).
• Preparation of lesson plans and activities that are student centered and project/task oriented based on the needs of the students. Creativity, flexibility, commitment, and ability to adapt to an experiential learning environment.
• Active participation in all school events and extra curricular activities.
• Participation in the development of the school-wide program and faculty/ staff training and activities as appropriate to this assignment.
• Previous international experience preferred.
• Speaking other languages a plus.
Terms of Employment
• Salary: $23 – 25,000 MX pesos per month
• Date of Employment: August 2010
• Transportation to Ciudad de Carmen is offered for those coming from USA, Canada or other parts of Mexico.
• Working VISA sponsorship is offered.
• Health care plan provided.
• Paid holidays (4 weeks /year plus, national holidays).
• 4-6 weeks off July/August.
• 1 round-trip plane ticket from your home city to Ciudad del Carmen, MX provided after fall semester.
• Approximately 1 hour planning for every 3 classes taught.
• Housing stipend provided.
• Grocery stipend provided.
• Savings matching plan.
