Details: American Leadership programs help students discover themselves, their own culture and how to be successful in a global society by traveling the world and experiencing fun and exciting new places. Are you an energetic and experienced high school teacher, coach, guidance counselor or school/community leader with a passion for travel and a firm belief in the value of international education? As a Teacher Counselor, you will encourage new student applicants in your community for eight months (2-4 hours/month). This involves committing to a training program, interviewing interested students, preparing them for the program, liaising with their parents, and conducting orientation meetings. During summer 2013 you will facilitate a pre-departure trip orientation and enjoy expense-paid travel to Europe, Peru, China or Australia chaperoning students during the group’s two weeks abroad. It’s an extraordinary experience for you, a life changing experience for the students. American Leadership also provides opportunities for teachers to attend International Teacher Conventions for professional development (expense-paid), rewards points, cash stipends, student scholarships, recruitment incentives and a performance bonus. Now seeking applicants from across the U.S. to begin work in late summer. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, however the desired application deadline is March 15. Please note that the applicants accepted earliest in the process are given first choice of available program destinations.
