Details: Mokpo English Village (MPEV) is a semi-private school supported by the
local government. The MPEV teaching style differs from your usual
tutoring school or public school style. We focus on practical English and
conversational learning. Our goal is to provide students with an
opportunity to build their English vocabulary and their confidence. We also
give students a chance to learn about Western cultures. Classes utilize
situational English lessons supported by various games and activities.
This class style requires a friendly and energetic teacher.
Our classes are modeled around ”real life” experiences. There are 16
classrooms which all have a different theme and are decorated
accordingly. Examples of these are; a hospital class, an Eco-park class and
a Mart class. Teachers are required to write lesson plans only twice a year
as our students changes everyday. Our students come from the local area
as well as further a field and their ages differs. This makes this style of
teaching a lot of fun as your working day is constantly changing. Many of
our teachers are on their second or third year of teaching due to the fun
element in this employment.
We are currently looking for two native English teachers to start in May
and June 2014. The school will provide nice accommodation within walking
distance of the school. A salary of 2.3 million won a month. Return flights
to and from your home country as well as an end of year contract bonus
of a months salary. Your hours of employment will be Mon - Fri 8.45 am to
5.45 pm, with occasional weekend work. All weekend work is considered
overtime and will be paid accordingly.
