Regional Mexican University in the state of Oaxaca is looking for a creative, dynamic, hard-working cooperative professional to form part of an integral team of Language Teachers at the University level. The hours are from Monday to Friday from 8:00a.m-1:00p.m and from 4:00pm-7:00p.m. The candidate is required to teach between 15-20 hours a week , the other hours are used for tutoring sessions, professional development activities, developing projects , writing articles within the University , the community.
The University position provides attractive benefits (annual bonus, savings plan, pension, healthcare, five weeks paid holiday). Teachers teach 3-4 classes daily. We are located in Huatulco on the southern coast of Oaxaca, Mexico.
The candidate must be a native English speaker , a successful applicant will have a B.A. + CELTA/TEFL/TESOL Certification or an M.A. in a relevant field and at least two years of classroom teaching experience, preferably with young adult students. Experience teaching TOEFL is a plus.
Wage: Depending on credentials, most teachers earn $11,000 MXN per month net, which is a very competitive local salary. The salary is paid in local currency , is reasonable to live comfortably , is set by the regional system.
The start date is for September 2013; however, the process to obtain a work Visa in Mexico changed as of November 2012 and the process takes longer than before and can no longer be filed locally but within the candidates own country; hence with this lengthy new process, when looking for a new candidate we are looking for an individual who not only meets all the requirements but one who in time will be interested in obtaining tenure with the University and to become part of the permanent staff rather than hiring a transient teacher whose main interest is to travel rather than to be an educator. So, we are interested in serious Educators only.
