Details: Around 25 hours teaching per week. The centres are offering a volunteer
type position and resources include internet access but are predominantly
white board/pen and paper based teaching.
Ideally the centres seek teachers who can teach all age groups but in this
case they can accept one teacher who can cover playgroup/primary and
another who can teach youth/adult. Teaching is at a basic and
intermediate level.
Experience not always required.
Accommodation is provided and normally consists of shared living and
cooking space and own bedroom
There is a food allowance of 10,000 Rupees per month
Internal travel is provided by the centre or the cost paid to you/tickets
provided
A stipend of 20,000 (approx. £100) Sri Lankan Rupee’s is paid to you
monthly in addition to accommodation and food allowances
A commitment of 3 months minimum is requested (6 months or more is
preferred)
The Sri Lankan centre ask that you pay for your flight and insurance but
they will provide and cover the cost of a full and proper Visa allowing you
to provide teaching services.
