Details: Columbia International College Taiwan is seeking qualified ESL teachers to
teach English in Taiwan. We are a certified Taiwanese branch of the biggest
international boarding school in Canada. Our goal is to provide incomparable
opportunities for all students interested in pursuing higher education. Many of
our past graduates received acceptance letters upon graduation from world-
renowned Canadian universities such as University of Toronto, University of
Waterloo, and McMaster University.

Qualifications:
- Must have at least a bachelor degree
- Must have a teaching certificate (Teacher’s license and/or TESL/TEFL)
- Must be qualified to teach secondary school students (Gr. 9-12)
- Must have knowledge of Canadian high school courses (or be willing to follow
the style of teaching)
Preferences will be given to teachers who are:
- Flexible to teach courses in multiple fields apart from English and ESL
- Knowledgable of the Ontario Education System
- Able to teach business related courses
- Willing to sign contracts lasting at least 2-years
Airfare will be reimbursed based on the current one-way rate from Vancouver,
BC to Taiwan (up to $800). Living accommodations will be provided. Cafeteria
food will be covered from Monday to Friday.
The hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm from Monday to Friday. Our school operates
on a block system and will have four teaching blocks per day. However,
teachers will not be teaching for all four blocks and will usually have at least a
block off per day. In return, teachers are required to help the students two
times a week at night (from 7PM to 9 PM) to ensure proper understanding of
the materials taught. The supplemental teaching nights will only be from
Monday to Thursday and will work on a rotational basis with other teachers.
Starting salaries for qualified teachers is $60,000NTD. Experienced teachers
with valid teaching licenses can expect at least $70,000NTD. Qualified
teachers who sign at least 2-year contracts will be given a $45,000 signing
bonus as well as a contract-competition bonus (amount to be determined).
