The American International School of Libreville is seeking an
Elementary School Teacher (Gr 4-5-6 combined class)
Position: Teaching Elementary Gr 4-5-6 combined class
Location: Libreville, Gabon, West Africa
Salary/Benefits: salary; annual airfare; housing; shipping allowance; medical

The teacher will be expected to work with students to:
•develop and improve their literacy skills in the areas of reading, writing and
comprehension
•develop and improve their level of mathematics skills/concepts
•build and develop concept/skill levels in Social Studies
•build and develop concept/skill levels in Science
•develop critical thinking skills
•communicate and convey ideas in writing and in speaking
•make connections to the real world
To that end, the candidate should be knowledgeable about best practices for the
teaching of elementary age children. The ideal candidate should have a background in
multicultural classroom settings, teaching experience at the elementary school level, a
commitment to best practice pedagogy, proven success as an elementary teacher,
experience with the American style of instruction/assessment, and the ability to manage
an elementary classroom effectively while encouraging all children to reach their full
academic, social and emotional potential.
Requirements:
- valid teaching certification
- Bachelor’s Degree (MA Preferred)
- two years elementary teaching experience (preferred)
- fluent English
