Details: I am looking for someone who is motivated, responsible and loving to come to Brazil and
live with our family for 6 or more months. Our next position would be from August 2016-
February/March 2017.
My children (a boy and girl) are 9 and 11 years old and study separately for 3-4 hours
each (6-7 hours total). We are using parts of the Common Core standards to ensure that
we are achieving the key goals and objectives for each grade. Each teacher we have had
has been given the freedom to create their own curriculum and utilize their own style of
teaching.
We have a lot of materials already since each previous teacher has brought their own
and there are also some materials from my eleven years as an elementary school
teacher. I don’t mind paying for materials should you find something you think will help.
Please be warned that finding and purchasing various educational materials can be
difficult in this part of Brazil.
You would be coming for the experience, not the money. We offer you a place to stay
near our hotel, plus three meals a day. Our hotel is located in the fishing village of Preá
and is directly in front of the beach. We are 12km away from Jericoacoara and have a
bed and breakfast there as well. The pay is minimal and is enough to sustain your living
and have some fun. Again, you would be coming for the cultural experience, not the
money.
The beach here in Preá is also a world famous kitesurfing spot, so if you ever wanted to
learn a new up-and-coming sport this is the place to do it!
