Details: We have a full-time position available for a native English speaker, beginning September 1, 2020. Here are some details about us. :)
English Village is a semi-private school supported by the local government. The teaching style differs from your usual tutoring school or public school style. We focus on practical English and conversational learning. Our goal is to provide students with an opportunity to build their English vocabulary and their confidence. We also give students a chance to learn about Western culture. Classes utilize situational English lessons supported by various games and activities. This class style requires a friendly and energetic teacher.
Our classes are modeled around “real life” experiences. There are 16 classrooms which have different themes and are decorated accordingly. Examples of these are: a Hospital class, an Eco-park class, and a Mart class. Teachers are required to write lesson plans only twice a year, as our students change everyday. Our students come from the local area as well as further afield and they range in age from Kindergarten through Middle School. This makes this style of teaching a lot of fun because your work day is constantly changing.
We are currently looking for one native English teacher to start in September. They must hold a valid passport from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or South Africa. They must also have a University degree in any subject. The school will provide: accommodation within walking distance of the school, a salary of 2.3 million won a month, round-trip airfare, severance pay, medical insurance, national pension, paid national holidays, and 15 days paid vacation/sick leave. Your hours of employment will be Mon - Fri 8:45 am - 5:45 pm, with occasional weekend work (usually 2 mornings/month). All weekend work is considered overtime and will be paid accordingly.
