21st Century Teachers Needed!

Nationality of teachers required (At Salary Scale stated):
21st Century trained Teachers (preferably teachers from South Africa, Canada, USA, UK, Australia, Indonesia, Finland and New Zealand) will accept teachers with IELTS 7.0 or higher from other nationalities (salary scale listed is for 21st Century Trained teachers only).
Age Limit:
60 years old is the legal age limit in Oman
Type of qualification required:
Bachelor of Education is required. (3-4 year degree or 3 verified experience years 21st Century Training-Classroom teaching)
Grades K-4 Must be Primary Classroom Teachers able to-according to their transcripts: must have a balance-teach Maths, English, Science and Social Studies.
5-8 Subject Teachers of Math, Science, English
9-10 Subject Teachers for Math, English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology
Years of experience required:
The teacher needs at least two years of teaching experience which must be verified by a Certificate of Employment stating the candidate must have at least two years of teaching experience in the position that they are applying for.
The teacher needs training in the area in which they are applying. Secondary teachers cannot teach Primary students.
What year groups are within your school?
Kindergarten 1 (Nursery) to Grade 10 (Year 10) for Math, Science, English and Social Studies. We do have Grades 11 and 12, but they are only monolingual (English as an additional language=6 periods of English each week.)
What curriculum do you follow?
Omani National Curriculum for Arabic, Islamic, Computer, PE, Music and Art. Oxford Discover/Scope for English and Cambridge Holder for Maths and Sciences.
Will you accept someone with no previous experience teaching the curriculum you follow?
We always provide support for the Curriculum. As long as teachers know how to follow and make lesson plans, the curriculum plan is a not difficult to follow.
Do you have a set pay scale for your teachers, if so please provide:
This year, as we are anticipating a larger number of students, we are willing to start teachers at OMR 600 per month with benefits. This salary scale is tentative based on what I have witnessed, not exactly approved.
Subject Teachers who are IELTS 7.0 or higher (not from the preferred nationalities) are started at OMR 400 per month.
What date do teachers get paid each month?
Teachers are paid on or before the fifth of each month.
Is accommodation paid for or an allowance given and is it also provided for a family?
All Single teachers: Both male and female are given a shared flat with the same gender. These single teachers are given their own room and bathroom, but must share the kitchen, appliances, and sitting room furnishings.
Family (Teaching Couples/Married Couples): Provided with a furnished family accommodation 2-3 bedroom apartments.
Is the accommodation furnished including bedding etc?
All apartments and rooms are given starter linens in the bathroom and bedroom. For each candidate they will receive one set of towels, bed sheets, pillowcases, pillows and cotton throws. All other linens must be provided by the employee. All basic starter silverware, pots, pans and dishware for each candidate. Also a welcome fruit basket and other delicacies samples to welcome you to Oman.
Are utility bills included?
All internet, electricity and water are paid for the Single Teachers’ accommodations. For family accommodations-only water and basic internet are provided. Families must pay for Electricity.
Do you provide a relocation allowance or pay for extra baggage allowance?
This is negotiable. This is entirely up to the owner.
Do you provide free schooling for dependents and if not how much will it cost?
2 children are free of charge (including uniform, books, and tuition.) Additional Children are given at least 50% off the full fee amount. Bilingual Education is provided from grades K-10 this year. Grades 11 and 12 learn only English during English Class. All other subjects are in Arabic.
Do you provide annual bonus – if yes how much?
We provide anywhere from 3% to 20% annual increase on the basic salary according to Omani Law.

Cost of living is not as high as in the other GCC countries. It is a simpler life here in Oman. Living extravagantly for one, you will spend anywhere from OMR 100-OMR 150 for food out and food home combined. Cinema starts at OMR 3 for standard and up to OMR 8 for 4DX per person. Alcohol and pork are found, but highly expensive.
