Details: Starting date: January 2020
Position will suit a flexible, enthusiastic, and well-qualified candidate who is student centered and focuses on learning.
**Early Years Positions in the following areas:
- Early Years (Prek – 2nd Grade) Classroom Teacher: knowledge of Reggio Emilia, Loose Parts, Language Learning (specifically in a dual/multi language environment), and Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) also a plus.
**Primary Years Positions in the following areas:
- Primary Years (3rd – 5th Grade) Classroom Teacher: knowledge of a balanced literacy approach to teaching Language (specifically in a dual/multi language environment), IPC or IB PYP is a plus. Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) also a plus.
**Secondary Positions in the following areas:
- Middle Years Generalist: experience working with 11-14 year olds, knowledge of SEL development in adolescence, knowledge of or experience with IMYC or IB MYP a plus, Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) also a plus.
-Secondary ICT Teacher: knowledge of or experience with IMYC or IB MYP a plus, Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) also a plus.
-Social Worker / Guidance Counselor: knowledge and experience working with teens, knowledge of SEL development in teens (experience working with DESSA a plus), willingness to work within the classroom directly with teens, willingness to work with and coach teachers and parents. Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) also a plus (At least a beginning level of Spanish is required)
**Leadership Positions in the following areas:
- Instructional Coach / Mentor Leader: Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, experience in research-based instructional practices that are in line with whole-child development, experience as a team leader, coach or mentor.
Salary compensation is competitive within Costa Rica. We are looking for dedicated teachers who are looking for a challenge and love what they do. The Costa Rican school calendar runs from February through December. We are looking for candidates to begin our 2020 school year in January.
Lakeside International School is located in the beautiful Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. We are 15 minutes from the Liberia International Airport, and 10 minutes from several beautiful beaches.
