High School Language Arts teacher

Salary: $15,000 USD
Details: We have a High School Language Arts classroom teacher position available for the 2022 school year. This begins January 5th and ends November 5th, 2022. This position entails teaching Language Arts to 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade students. There are other extra-curricular activities that are included in the list of responsibilities. All teachers have an equivalent load of work. We are a bilingual, experimental/laboratory school, and utilize cutting edge teaching strategies to better meet the learning needs of each of our students.
We strive to nurture effective communication skills, master core academic content and engage in inquiry based lessons. Our goals are to encourage each individual student to learn the way he/she learns best. Learning experiences and educational expectations are academically, intellectually, and personally challenging for all students. Project-based learning strategies are incorporated across the grade levels. We use Socratic Seminars to engage our students and also use NEWSELA to support differentiation.
We are heavily engaged in a community outreach program with a local public school. We have other local schools in which we collaborate on different levels. This experience will impact your outlook on life and will create a lasting effect on your future role in the global world.
Qualifications are:
* A minimum of 2 years classroom experience and proven skills in leadership, group facilitation, organization, writing, listening and communication.
* Ability to work independently yet seek support if necessary.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A passion for student achievement, the conviction that all students can learn, and a high drive to meet the needs of every student.
* Experience teaching High School English curriculum.
