English Language Education University Instructor

Details: Yildiz Technical University’s (YTU) Department of Foreign Languages, under the Faculty of Education, is currently seeking qualified native English-speakers with experience in ESL and education instruction for immediate start during the 2020-2021 spring semester, or for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Located on Davutpaşa campus, YTU’s Department of Foreign Languages provides courses intended for teaching second language acquisition, approaches to teaching a second language, and improving teaching skills in foreign language education. The curriculum focuses on language education (teaching students how to teach) rather than second language acquisition (teaching English as a second language). This position comes with a full-time, salaried contract, revisited and renewed annually. Instructors are responsible for up to 20 teaching hours with weekly office hours.
Qualified applicants for the position:
For citizens of the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa
--A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in one of the following fields:
o English Language and Literature
o Linguistics
o Educational Sciences
--OR, graduates of other fields should meet the following requirements:
o A TEFL Dipolma;
o Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
For citizens of other countries
--A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in one of the following fields:
o English Language
o English Literature
o English Language Teaching
--A CELTA or equivalent certificates [a DELTA is preferred], recognized by YÖK;
--Minimum 2 years of teaching experience.
All applicants should (have/be):
--Currently based in Istanbul, Turkey.
--Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
--Able to run courses online and use Web-based tools and technology during instruction.
--Professional and enthusiastic with a dedicated attitude to the teaching profession.
--Experience teaching university-level students and materials design for academic curriculum is a bonus.
