Details: Education Moms provides mentors, tutors, and career counselors to help parents and students (K-12) get on the right track in their education journey. We are a company with a mission — understanding students, their unique personality and psychographic traits, where they excel, and where they can improve. We are also committed to giving back to children that can’t afford great tutors through free Education Plans.
Mentors are responsible for understanding the unique characteristics of their students, assessing academic performance and personality characteristics, logging data, making recommendations, and finding the right tutors.
Mentors also work with tutors usually perform many of the following tasks:
• Developing their students’ skills.
• Helping students to improve their learning process.
• Detecting specific needs of each student.
• Teaching supplementary lessons.
• Creating reports.
Requirements & Responsibilities
Passionate about education and helping students
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Entrepreneurial mindset (we are a startup)
Ability to review classroom or curricula topics and assignments
Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks
Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom
Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills and approaches to answering test questions
Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research and writing tactics
Developing and distributing teaching materials to supplement classroom lessons, including study guides
Conducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals for exam preparation
Providing students positive and constructive feedback
Offering feedback on progress to students’ parents and teachers where appropriate
We would like to connect with mentors who can work with our students directly as well as tutors in all subject areas and career counselors! We have lots of parents and students looking for mentors and tutors!
