Experienced Biology Teacher Wanted

Salary: $1,800 USD

Details: Oman Private School is seeking a highly motivated individual for the full-time position of teaching Biology at the middle school and secondary school level. This immediate position will entail readying students for the Cambridge IGCSE examinations as well as the Sultanate of Oman Bilingual Program (based on Cambridge content); as such, familiarity with IGCSE exams and standards is an asset.
Tasks will include other school related responsibilities, such as:
• Preparing lesson plans
• Grading and reporting
• Quiz/exam preparations
• Communicating with students and parents
• Supervision duties
Successful candidates should have:
• A B.Ed. from a recognized academic institute or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience
• Experience teaching secondary biology and conducting labs with students
• Fluent English speaking and writing skills (if not a native English speaker, candidates should have a minimum IELTS score of 7.5 or above)
• Experience preparing students for international examination standards
• An understanding of the latest pedagogical developments in science and associated curriculum areas
• A motivation to see students excel academically and behaviorally
