Teach in Honduras (August 2026)

Fields of Expertise: ESL/EFL,  Elementary,  ESL to Children,  Kindergarten,   
Salary: $600 USD

Details: Mayatan Bilingual School is hiring full-time elementary teachers and an Academic Principal. Mayatan accepts candidates from any background and life stage, though we strongly prefer applicants with teaching degrees, certification, and classroom experience in their subject area.
Compensation and benefits:
- Monthly stipend, provided housing, immigration assistance, and medical insurance.
- Contracts require a minimum one-year commitment; extensions may be offered based on performance.
- Six hundred dollars per year towards your flight to get to Honduras.
Minimum teacher requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience teaching or tutoring in some capacity.
- Demonstrated dedication to living and working abroad for at least one year (two years preferred).
- Ability to commit to teaching K–12 for a minimum of one academic year.

- Able to work autonomously within established guidelines.
- Capable of independent classroom management and lesson planning.
- Resourceful, adaptable, and committed to making the best of limited resources.
About working at Mayatan:
Teaching at Mayatan is a full-time, professional commitment—not a vacation. Teachers must remain for the full contracted year; successful service may lead to contract extensions. The academic principal will lead curriculum development, support teachers, and uphold academic standards.
