Fields of Expertise: ESL/EFL,
Details: English Language Teacher for adults and teenagers. Classes 0930 - 1600 face to face at ISE Hove school. Applicants must live in or around the Brighton & Hove area.
Responsibilities include to:
plan, prepare, teach and, where appropriate, design schemes of work & lessons
assess, and provide feedback on students achievement, progress and development needs.
set, evaluate and mark students course work & homework
supervise students’ attendance and bebehaviour as appropriate
attend staff meetings
ISE Hove is a long-established, friendly, family run school in the centre of Hove. We’re looking for dynamic and fun teachers to join our teaching team for the summer programme. We run EFL classes at all levels from Beginner to Advanced.
Applicants must have either a Cambridge English teaching qualification (CELTA/Delta) or a Trinity London teaching qualification (CERT/Dip) or equivalent and have the right to work in the UK.
ISE is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment:
A DBS/Police Check will be requested in the event of a successful application
We do not normally accept DBS Checks undertaken by other organisations (unless you are on the update service).
All gaps in CVs must be explained satisfactorily
Proof of identity and qualifications will be required
All references will be followed up and reference requests will ask specifically whether there is any reason you should not be engaged in situations where you have responsibility for, or substantial access to, persons under 18 and / or vulnerable adults.
Appropriate suitability checks will be required prior to confirmation of appointment
Qualifications
Essential:
Cambridge English Language Teaching Qualification (CELTA/Delta) or a Trinity College London Teaching Qualification (CERT/Dip)
Degree / PGCE
At least 2 years’ experience teaching adults / teenagers general English at a range of levels
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Effective team player with flexibiliy
Good time management skills
Ability to use own initiative and plan effective lessons independently
Reliable, responsible, punctual & professional
Proficient English [not necessarily native]
Confident using IT, including Word etc
Desirable:
Relevant Master’s Degree
DELTA or equivalent
Experience in teaching Young Learners [teenagers]
Experience teaching 121
Experience in teaching Cambridge Exams
Experience in using interactive whiteboard
