Baghdad British International School (BBIS) is one of Iraq’s fastest-growing British international schools, delivering the Pearson curriculum from KG to Year 11. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an outstanding Business Studies & Economics Teacher to join our Secondary School and help establish our first Pearson Edexcel International GCSE cohort.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator who is passionate about preparing students for success in Business Studies and Economics while contributing to the continued growth of an ambitious British international school.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach Business Studies and Economics at International GCSE level.
• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured lessons that promote critical thinking and real-world application.
• Prepare students for Pearson Edexcel International GCSE examinations.
• Monitor student progress through effective assessment, feedback and target setting.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development and departmental improvement.
• Support the wider academic and pastoral life of the school.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
• A recognised teaching qualification and a relevant university degree.
• A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Commerce or a closely related discipline.
• Experience teaching Business Studies and/or Economics within a British or British international curriculum.
• Experience preparing students for International GCSE, IGCSE, GCSE, A Level, IB MYP/DP or equivalent external examinations.
• Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
• A commitment to high academic standards, student wellbeing and safeguarding.
Experience with the Pearson Edexcel curriculum is highly desirable.
