Dear Aleksandra,

I spent three years teaching English in China. It will be no problem for you to get a teaching job this summer. Most schools in China require that you sign a six month or one year contract. Look at "daveseslcafe" they have many jog postings in China. Remember, most schools in China will try to pay you less because you are not from a native speaking country. Do not let them pay you less than 4,000RMB. The standard, depending on the location, will be 4,000 to 7,000RMB. Let me know if I can help you in any way. I wish you the best in your search.

Sincerely,

Eric Kramaley

I did apply to so many places, but they are responding so slowly, I get the feeling that they´ve rejected me because I am not a native speaker even though my skills are sufficient. And Eric, if you have any suggestions of a company or a school I could contact directly, I would be very happy to hear from you! Thanks in advance!

Good day to you! We´re both have the same handicapped if you may call it. But I suggest you better take learning the Language accent more pronouncely and effectively to be able to land a good job teaching English to Chinese, Koreans as well as other non-native speakers.

I would like also to find something, but I do not see many opportunities for non-native speakers. I have Ph.D in linguistics from Ukraine and M.A. in journalism (strategic communication) from the USA. I was a visiting scholar in the USA and worked there for many reputable organizations. My visa will expire soon, however. I do not think that my family would like to go to China, but I am still interested in many other countries.

If you are still looking for a position, I may be able to help, but I am based in the South of China, not the North.

The best way for all non-native English speakers to increase their chances of finding a job via SeriousTeachers.com is to apply directly from the Main Page where the Job Board is located. This way they will override the filtering that the employers place for non-native speakers and at least the applicant can present his/her profile to the corresponding employer!
