I´m a retired teacher of Calgary, AB, Canada. Edmonton is about 200 miles north of Calgary. The salary scale is based on your years of education and experience. Being a new teacher from the Philippines, you would start as a new teacher but your educational background would be considerd. The base salary beginning salary of a B Ed dgree is about $45,000 a year with great benefits. When I retired, I was getting about $70,´000/year with my MA. Kids are great, but you have to be firm but friendly. parents are well involved in the richy areas. There are high needs districts, but you will get full support from your colleagues and admin team.
Edmonton is colder than Calgary and the ave. winter temp. would be around 40 C. The summer weather is temperate.
