If you are used to Cairo, the heat in Tianjin won´t bother you. It is a nice town, close to Beijing and has a fairly low cost of living.

Decide first if you wish to work at a "regular" school or a language school as most of the language schools work evenings and weekends. If you work at a normal school/college, there will be the regular Monday thru Friday with holidays. A lot of the language schools you only get 1 day off a week. Think first before you sign any contract to see exactly the days/times of the class schedule. And, it depends on when you enjoy working as well. China is a very good place to work as it is easy to live here, comfortable and the people are really nice. Good luck

Tianjin is a small city in South West China. It gets to -4 in winter.I am presently a trainer for a Air Crew Company in Zhuhai and one of my classes are girls from this City. They are intelligent and friendly. I think you will enjoy your time there. Cost of living is cheap. Good luck !!
Zhuhai is a easy place to get work and is better air than most. Also close to Macau and HK.

Hi. Tianjin is not a "small" city!!! It is the third largest city in China. The population is around 9 million plus........and it is a dirty bcity. However......it has many good "western" areas and shops. There are a good number of restaurants catering to "western" tastes as well. On balance, not a bad place, if your school is able to provide decnt accomodation. I live about 3 hours by train away from Tianjin, and have been there many times. In the winter, it is a little cold, but not unbearable. The summers are damned hot and muggy, but it is not a bad place all round. If you can tolerate a lot of people, and horrendous traffic..............go for it.

Me and my boyfriend´s contract with the school we are working are over. We wish to move and work with a new school. But seems hard to look for because of this agents thats been buzzing like a bee, who likes to earn their money..Does anyone knows a direct school who can hire both of us?? please help

I just sent you a response and then read "no email or web links" so I don´t know how to contact you. There are some jobs in Dalian right now and for the coming year. I would personally avoid those that are in Lushun, it is isolated and one hour from town. So is a military school which is looking for teachers. There are military schools in town that are just fine. Be real picky where ever you land and don´t be afraid to ask for the moon; it is OK if you just get the stars instead :-)

Hello, I seen your post. I live and work in China. Its very different, it has a culture of its own. If your not offered at least 6000rmb, dont take it. Make sure your not working more than 22 classes a week. Do they offer visa assistance, if not its a big hassle. Good luck

Chinese people are really good , I enjoyed when i had a chance to teach in Shandong and hebei. Tianjin is a good place too. you´ll enjoy it. Chinese are really Industrious, they don´t like lazy people.
