I am hoping to live in Tainan or Madou area of Taiwan in Aug...

I haven´t heard of any schools in Taiwan, but I was interested in going there before a school in South Korea offered me a job. I hold a couple of degrees in Political Science and Liberal Arts. Just thought that an advise from someone else out there would be helpful. There are hundreds of jobs in South Korea, but I am not sure which one to choose from. I would like your opinion on what you think.

I lived in Taiwan for 3 years and have many friends that have been there for over 10. My wife and I are leaving this month to go there for MANY years. For the most part you should not have any major problems since it sounds like you are a REAL teacher. There are Thousands of jobs on the island. Most people just get off the plane and find one quite quickly. BUT do your homework!! There are a few schools that offer airfare and numerous incentives and an environment that is quite pleasant. STAY AWAY from recruiters in general! What do YOU really want to teach? I taught at a public high school that was such fun. Rosy, Why Tainan? just curious.

Kevin,

I am going to apply for a PS position. Were you expected to fully teach or play games? If the latter, I could stay in Korea. What is the level of most HS students?

Thanks
Dustin
