Is it possible to start working as an english teacher with n...

If you are a native English speaker and if you want to work as an English teacher you´d better get at least a certificate because most of the countries want an English teaching certificate.

Are you
serious...
or just making a joke?

Long ago there may have been places in the world where you could get a job ´teaching´ English just because you were a foreigner, but those days are long gone. No one looks for just a ´foreign body´ in the classroom anymore. Besides...how awful could it be to get up in the front of a group of students and not have a clue what you are supposed to do? I have nightmares about that...

Try just about every single city in China. If you have a pulse, and you are not that drunk, you have white skin and speak "native English"... its all good in the hood! Just make sure you tuck that Welcome to Wal-Mart name badge away before staggering into work like so many of the ex-pats do. (NOT ALL OF THEM...but MANY.)

If you are truly interested in teaching english, this site has the serious TEFL online course. Look to your left and click on it. To heighten my ability to procure a teaching position, even though I have an MBA, I took the TEFL and found it very informative. Not easy, but it was well worth it. Don´t know if it helped me to obtain the job in South Korea, but I got it.
Try it and see what you think.

I have been applying to threads for positions for nearly a year regarding teaching abroad. I have taught in Europe and Asia (at times during travels and personal consultations) It is important to have a degree or a certificate. I have 4 university degrees from major international universities representing over 12 years of University study as well as university teaching. Quite interesting- I still am asked if I have a TEFL, TESL or other certification (as though Ive never written a dissertation, books or taught legal and medical professionals in foreign countries with some good successes in ESL, TOFL) Its a call. The certification of ESL or whatever acronym seems to be more important than the actual teaching experience or University education. With some irony I have known quite a few to enter the profession with a 2 year degree or the most basic certifications over others with more advanced credentials. Overqualification is a somewhat difficult situation to those out there that understand. Education is always a valuable resource, moreover experience beyond the philosophical or tangible elements (education work). One should always broaden ones horizons if this possibility exists. Of course I am still waiting for that call of a possible "job" teaching ESL or broadening my horizons through self education, external research, application or positions that come given within such parameters (to pay off the student loans that could otherwise buy a glorious mansion during good times) Welcome to a "Brave New World ". All the best!
