Hi everybody. I have been offered a job by a University in China. However, I do not have a Bachelor´s Degree and the school says that as a result the "Foreign Expert Bureau" will not issue a Letter of Invitation that is needed for me to get my Z-Visa.

People here have said that the need is so great in China that you can get a Visa without a BA.... Can anyone give me direction on this?

Yes you can teach in China without a degree Tom. It is tough in certain areas though. If you have a school that wants you and is willing to push your paperwork you will be there soon.

Without a degree it s unlikely that you will be able to get a job at a university. Perhaps you could try language schools instead, although I´m not sure what their (or the government´s) requirements are.

The way round this is to photocopy a friend´s degree, and put your name on it. Immigration only needs a copy and they never ask for an original.
BTW, if someone says he can get your Z visa without a a degree he is lying. Bascially he will employ you without a work visa.

It does vary and yes language schools can sometimes get around it. But be very careful.

I would get a degree. You should have a Masters or P.H.D. to teach at a university otherwise your 4th year students may be more educated than you.

China has started requiring more than a photo shop degree. They will want a diploma that has the seal. No copy but the original from the University. I recently finished a year’s contract in China and I saw teachers kicked out for this reason. The government for whatever reason is beginning to crack down.
