Has anyone worked for NurOrda International school in Kazakh...

Has anyone worked for NurOrda International school in Kazakhstan? I have been told that they would like me to work for them, but i am not sure that the school really exists. They want me to buy the airticket and they would reimburse me. Is that standard practice? I would feel a lot safer if my ticket was bought by them. They are offering to pay my salary cash at the end of the month. Is that usual for Kazakhstan?

I´ve received the same offer. But if you look at the email from Mr. Yildiz, he sent that offer out to 30 people! I am not sure what´s going on here, either, and the fact that I can find NO mention of this school online makes me uncomfortable. A ticket to Kazakhstan is expensive and I just feel there is no guarantee that all will be as he describes once you arrive.

I am calling Borat right now for his opinion about this school. They also contacted me the other day. They offered me 3000 USD per month, but aparently my wife cannot enter K-stan. The area is not exactly safe, but if you like a challenge, the policy of, in on a bus, and out in a box may apply.

I´m wondering the same thing. I´d like to teach there, if it´s in fact a real school.

That school is valid. They started in 2007 and they have a business license according the to city. They have a working fax number, which, when you transmit, pops up on the screen in their registered business name. Their embassy was very helpful as were local police. As for airfare, few schools there days other than the Arab Gulf States, Middle East, and Korea, pay for airfare. I have previuosly lived and worked in Kazakhstan. It is not a vacation spot. If you love to smoke and guzzle vodka, it is all about X marks the spot baby! Safety is questionable. Overall, the locals are nice, but it is a a quasi high-risk type of place. Most places do payroll at the end of the month. Have you ever worked anywhere that paid a salary on the first of the month BEFORE working for the month? Anyway, their company Web site is messed up, but so are many Web sites these days. It appears they are legit, but it seems someone there is not on the ball with communication and PR tasks.

I have also been offered a job here to start in August 2009. I will be relocating with my husband (Thai) and 2 young children (ages 1 and 3) I am also unsure about it. Is it safe for children and did any of you accept the job offer? Any comment is welcomed as I am in a bit of a quandry about whether to accept or not.

I didn´t because the hiring, in my opinion, wasn´t being done in a professional way (I´d received an email addressed to me and thirty other people offering a job without even being interviewed!).

As I had stated earlier, Kazakhstan isn´t exactly ´around the corner´ and airfare is too expensive to gamble on its working out.

That said, I would also like to hear if anybody did teach there!

I am working here now...it´s legit...they reimburse your airfare as soon as you arrive. It´s a new school and has a lot of potential but again it´s a new school with all the pros and cons that come with that.
