Dear Fellows,
I am M.Phil.(Linguistics) as well as M.Ed.(Teacher Education) but my flaw is that I am a Pakistani, a non native speaker. And all the posts advertised here are meant for native speakers only. Please do favor me by telling that how can i get a suitable job in saudi arabia, thailand, uae, brunei and kuwait.
Regards

Hello Friends,
I think that I may reply myself because no one is paying attention to my request. And as far as I am concerned, i think language learning and language acquisition are two different things and those who have learned language could better perform the job of foreign language teaching as they themselves have experienced the process of language learning and they are bettter aware of the methods which are more suitable for second or foreign language teaching. Please comment.

Dear Malik Naseem,
If I was in your place, I would send my resume to every ad that is asking for someone with my degree and experience. Sometimes they say they want a native speaker, but once they interview you, they might like what they hear. Best wishes!!!!

Thanx Mona, it is good counsel yet i regret to say that it is not applicable because i did so and the result was rejection becasue they even do not bother to interview the non native. Yet, i am thankful to you for suggesting a nice idea. thanx alot

I couldn´t agree more. I am in your same situation. I have two degrees and years of experience, but because I am Maltese I am not considered for most jobs. But I won´t give up and will keep trying. I have heard of cases like us still managing to be successful, but it takes time and patience.

Dear Malik,

I think your perspective in understanding what it is like in learning a second language and being successful at it is commendable. However, I have had foreign professors teach at my university who knew little English and the experience was horrible. In fact, I felt that I missed out on some of my learning experiences because of it. My advice would be to continue to practice English and become as fluent as possible, then highlight your abilities. DO NOT mention that you´re not a native English speaker unless they ask (of course you won´t get an interview if you tell them you´re not a native tongue!). And from that point, persistence, talent, willing to do what others won´t, and then your credentials, will be your strong points in selling yourself. I have had difficulty getting positions in the US for lack of experience, but my persistence usually gets me in the door, even if I am under-qualified. Hope this helps.
