Anyone have any suggestions for cities in Korea? I am bouncing all over the place! I am young, single, like to hike, bike, run, swim. I am not a huge drinker but love to socialize. I have thought about Busan but worried it might be too big, and hard to meet people. I thought of Daejeon because its smaller and nearby ski resorts, but I heard it could be boring for younger singer people. Let me know your thoughts!

Hi Megan, I spent 2 years in Korea and if you like the beachy town, then you would love Busan. I personally lived in Incheon, but spent alot of time in Seoul, Incheon was also a nice little place, but I would suggest Bucheon if you want to be closer to Seoul. Any questions, please write me!

Daegu is a medium sized city. Busan is good. It is a larger city, but there are many neighborhoods. Jeju? Small, island. I would not worry about meeting people. If you want to meet Koreans, simply being white (sorry, but true) and a woman will get you more "friends" than you will know what to do with. If you mean waeguks, do you REALLY want to associate with THEM???

Daegu or Taegu was a great place for me. The University is often hiring, many businesses want to have evening English conversation and you can easily get extra weekend jobs as a substitute teacher.

You will socialize a lot in Korea because bad alcohol is cheap there. I spent 3 years there and found the expats to be awful. And that is anywhere in Korea. Expat communities often refect the manners of the citizens. Think about that before you go there. Go to Japan where the people may not accept you, but they will be polite and your contract will be honored.
