The money is good,, generally you will be placed in a "safe compound" little chance of socialising or partying.. and censored intenet connection.. bit of a prison sentence really,, but you collect a tidy sum at the end.

Females generally have a bit greater hardship to endure outside the formal school setting. The entire UAE is very much a "man’s world" and that takes females from some cultures by surprise. Living conditions and such tend to be "good" in a relative sense of the word. If your AC goes out in the hot months the Haris is the "goto" person and it never hurts to tip him a couple of dinar. If you can work through the culture shock you will be fine. I know Women who have worked in the UAE for over a decade and enjoy it. "Here" you will most likely be able to afford a Maid which is something few teachers in the west can claim. In large, it depends on where your school is, e.g., village or more city-like setting. There should be some experienced female teachers at your school who can help you get oriented and settled in.
