I am teaching in Fukui, Japan. I have fallen into a pretty bad situation. The school I work for
owes me a lot of money, and does not respond to my numerous requests to be paid. This
includes out of pocket money owed to me for money used to pay tolls, gas and other driving
related experience. Also, the school has not paid me about 2 months salary, and at the end of
this month, it will be 3 months.

At this time the school owes me about 60 mahn.

I have searched the internet and cannot find a Japan Labor Board phone number to contact.

Anybody have a number I can call?

Thanks

Greetings from Indonesia!
This is bad, that this site does not allow me to include a website link, because this is exactly what I wanted to do. Since July I have been writing notes about the school where I have a misfortune to work, and I wanted to share these with fellow teachers to warn them, which kind of "schools" they can encounter in Indonesia.
The experiences that I had in this school are very close to fantasy of absurd, but it all really happened and is still going on.
Best wishes, teachers, and beware of sweet-mouthed employers...

I am considering teaching English in Panama, Chile, or Belize. Does anyone have any great experiences with schools in any of these countries, or know of schools that I should contact? If so, please share your insight. Thank you.
Club di Lingua Inglese, Caserta, Italy
I worked for Club di Lingua Inglese for 4 months. The worst job I´ve had since I began teaching EFL. They have little to no resources. In a town that has no English literature (books, magazines, newspapers) at all, this can make planning lessons rather difficult. Marino says in his ad that he will assist you, which is a lie. My first day there, he simply told me to prepare 3-4 lesson plans for that evening. He would´nt even tell me the levels, ages, or interests of the students. Marino will also say and do anything to not pay you what he owesyou, including the flight home. I lost more money than I made on this venture. The main reason I left, however, was the sexual harrassment.

hi to all - i am an indian citizen with mixed parentage. Grandparents -one scottish one dutch. went to a public school and my spoken english is far better than many "native english speakers" . yet there is resistance to employ an indian. India has a few hundred public schools set up during the British time in India. Students from these schools speak excellent english. i can imagine that to quickly shortlist possible candidates it may be best to specify ´native english speakers´ but that is flawed. there are two reasons for this - one is you will not attract the best talent available with this narrow definition and secondly the standard of english is not the best in some of these countries ! What is the way out then ? Comments are invited
International Education Network, anyone worked for them? just curious. I am proceeding to work for them and would really appreciate some info...
