Hi everybody. I have been offered a job by a University in China. However, I do not have a Bachelor´s Degree and the school says that as a result the "Foreign Expert Bureau" will not issue a Letter of Invitation that is needed for me to get my Z-Visa.
People here have said that the need is so great in China that you can get a Visa without a BA.... Can anyone give me direction on this?

Could some of you out there or returning from teaching ESL in Asia or the Middle East, please tell me about the kind and type of discrimination I might receive being a black American? Could anyone recommend schools in those areas where problems might be less? I served in the Peace Corps in Belize and Ethiopia in the 1970´s and had no problems. Now I would like to experience the other side of the world. Please advise.

Hi, Im wondering, is it possible to teach English in South Korea without a Bacherlor´s degree? I have a TESOL Qualification, however all the job adverts specify that a degree is required.
Also, does anyone have advice on how best to find job vacancies in the UAE, namely Dubai or Abu Dhabi? Websites, contacts etc?
Thanks :)

I have received a contract from Metropolitan International College in Torrelavega. Has anyone heard of this school? I am trying to go to Europe with my family and this would be fine but they did not even talk to me before sending a contract. So I am concerned about the legitimacy.

What are the standard rates of pay/ average cost of living in Japan?
From what I have researched/ seen in contracts and been told at interviews the standard rate of pay for a first time teachers ESL/ ALT is 250 000 yen/ mnth (for a 35 hr week approx). I’ve heard that you can teach English abroad and save a bit of money, I’m not doing it for the money, rather the experience but would like to be able to save something. Given that Japan/ especially around Tokyo where I would like to be, is 250 000 an acceptable wage to cover costs and live off?

I have been offered a position with a school (?) named SDM. It seems the pay is very high (2000 usd) but this seems strange since I have no experience. Has anyone heard of this school? Does anybody have ANY tips on going about getting an EU work permit? Despite numerous offers from Asia and Eastern Europe, I´m still reluctant to give up my vision of working in Spain. I know Europe has rights of ancestry laws and my granddad was a Scotsman who came to America in his early 20´s, , so there´s that. I would, however appreciate any "insider" tips that were more failsafe. Thanks.
