Hi all. I know that this is not a new top and probably has been discussed a million times but I wanted it to go to the top of the list. Please forgive me if I have not done this the "correct" way.
I have many qualifications but no degree and contrary to what the language school told me when I took the TEFL course I am finding it impossible to get a job. I feel I have a lot to offer to an employer and I am hoping for some advice from you. Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi everyone. I am trying to obtain a teaching position in the UAE. However, I am only getting offers for Kuwait. I never really considered Kuwait. If you have worked in Kuwait can you tell me what to expect as far as housing, schools and SALARY go? I want this experience to allow me to save money. Can I live off of 200kd, after saving? I have two offers that I won´t reply to until I here some fedback from someone who has worked in Kuwait. HELP!!!

What are the most respected TEFL courses that employer´s look for? Are there some that are not taken seriously? I don´t want to get certified and then find out that employers won´t consider me because of the TEFL course I took.

TEACHERS are really trustworthy and honest... May 10,2010 Philippines will hold its Presidential Election ..for the first time on automated machine teachers will administer the electoral proceedings this really prove that teachers still have the credibility and honesty in handling the election proceedings...I´m glad I am a teacher..

What chance do you think I have of obtaining a job teaching English. I´m almost 65 but I´m fit and enthusiastic. I have a degree equivalent in Textiles and TESOL certificates via internet related courses.

Is an online M.A. in TESOL really considered legitimate overseas if obtained by an accredited institution here in the U.S.? I have taught ESL in the public schools for 3 years in addition to having taught English Language Arts for 10 additional years.

I would like to post this for teachers who are considering a position in Egypt with any school, Language Center or Training company. As the Principal of an "American school" (and 14 years living there), I have witnessed certain issues by some private establishment throughout Egypt. Avoid bringing the Police into any disagreement between you and the establishment because, as a foreigner you will not win your case. If you are considering ANY position in Egypt, 1- Get a complete, SIGNED contract that states ALL the conditions outright, nothing verbal, especially in English, (Oh, you didn´t understand the translation), 2- PAY FOR NOTHING UP FRONT, if they want you in this high demand market, let them pay first! 3- Don´t trust ANYTHING verbal. 4- Learn at least a rudimentary Arabic, then you will know what is really going on (don´t say you understand Arabic)

Entry Level Teachers,
"Looking for employment in our new career". Hang in there, it will come. I know how it feels. I am semi retired and it feels like my lifes acheivements and dedication was for nothing when you notice all the postings that say BA, PHD, and so on. I am for certain going to start my BA. However it does not help the fact that you need a teachers job. Well all we can do is stick to our values and beliefs. I know I am worth 7ooormb in China. I just wish there was a company that only recruits entry level. Guess I´ll just keep praying God takes me in the right direction...Happy Hollidays to All:))

Working in a government school is really tiring and fascinating. A classroom with 50 students against 1 teacher. Most of the students come from poor families and problems regarding shortage of books, chairs and classroom is a perennial problem. My 18 years experience is full of joy and tears but I cant remember 1 pupil Gr.1 noted for his thief against some student using a toy gun is a clear "hold up" inside the school campus. When I asked about him I found out that he is an orphan and under the care of an 80 year old grandmother who cant afford to give him allowance. So I told him if I give you daily allowance will you stop? And now I give him his daily allowance and he really stopped. I realized then...that the family where he grows up with really makes up a CHILD.

Are there any job postings that do NOT require one to have a degree? I would like to obtain a degree, and in order for me to do that, I would like to pay off the debt I have accumulated and get back into a school.

I feel that I have enough knowledge, as of course, English is my first and main language. I have worked with children, and have taught (art) before. Please don´t get offended (if you would?,) or shrug this off as "whatever," I just honestly, would like to know. I will obtain a degree, but now, I have to do work that makes a difference in my pay check and others´ lives.

Thank you, Jessica.

I´m refocusing a job search from KSA because I think it will be too intense for my 15 year-old boy. Can anyone tell me about living/working in Qatar, Oman or Bahrain?
Thanks!
